PR for Non-Profit Organizations

Within this class, we focused on the basics of Public Relations (PR) as it applies to Non-Profit Organizations. The challenge of this class was to work with a real-world non-profit, create a full PR plan, and develop a grant proposal with little to no budget.

Arianna chose to work with the DowntownCDC located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

THe Sisters Place

Instead of completing a research paper or thesis, the class voted to work on alternative projects through Point Park University’s Wood Street Communications. Arianna was assigned The Sisters Place, a non-profit that helps struggling families get back on their feet by providing housing and other supportive services.

Below is a presentation of the work she completed for them*.

*The “What’s Next?” slide was completed post-presentation, after the class ended.
