Graphic Translation
Starting with photographs of a toy cupcake (See Process Work below), Arianna was challenged to think outside-the-box and draw the toy in 5 different styles: Contour Line, Geometric, High Contrast, Positive & Negative, and Motion. This process teaches a designer to interpret design in different ways, instead of concentrating on an objects given appearance.

Contour Line: A style where you follow the given lines and shapes of an object. This style is the most realistic to the object's original shape.
Geometric: A style where you interpret the object as concrete shapes, such as circles, squares or triangles.
High Contrast: A style which emphasizes the shadows and highlights of the object.
Positive & Negative: This style turns the object into positive and negative shapes, often inverting the colors.
Motion: This style emphasizes movement of the object. This is achieved by rotating and duplicating the object, along with changing the opacity or thickness of the line work.
